A Little for Ourselves
After two years of marriage to a potter, I finally have placed an order for my own special set of dinnerware! I'm very excited about our project. There is something so organic and satisfying about making a thing with your own hands and using it daily. This is the beautiful thing about clay. It's art to be sure, but it brings beauty to the daily life. It glorifies in it's own silent steady way that there is something to be appreciated in the simplest activity.
Here are some pictures of the process!
This is the studio that we are lucky enough to have access to. It works perfect for us right now.Throwing the spout for a custom ordered tea pot.
These will be the cups for the tea pot.

Hot out of the Kiln
We had a very busy weekend, but finally, here are the pots that came out of the kiln last week! We made a chalice and plate for our friends who got married this weekend that they used in their ceremony. We were so glad to use our talents in such a way for their special day.
If you are ever interested in anything that comes out of our kiln, drop us a note at our email address brownpottery@gmail.com

Welcome!
We are so excited about our new blog! I hope this becomes a place where you can get a glimpse of the process and personal side of our pottery. We are very small scale, but we love what we do.
Austin has thrown another kiln's worth of pots and I'm super excited about them! Keep watching to find out how it turns out.
